South Central Kentucky’s specialized industry councils bring our region’s industry leaders together in a focused, task-driven format to advise the Chamber on key issues of importance to them. By looking over the horizon and taking proactive steps, the South Central Kentucky business councils are a driving force for future growth.

South Central Kentucky Advanced Manufacturing Council

The South Central Kentucky Advanced Manufacturing Council is a collaboration among regional industry leaders. The council meets monthly in a roundtable-style meeting intended to provide a venue for open dialogue and address the workforce needs, training, legislative advocacy and other items identified by industry representatives.

South Central Kentucky Innovation and Technology Council

The mission of the South Central Kentucky Innovation and Technology Council is to connect and grow the innovation and technology community by providing informational opportunities and a legislative platform for the top innovative and technological minds from the region who work in the public and private sectors.

Plant Managers Roundtable  

Uniting local plant managers across various industry sectors to build a stronger network of operations and facility managers in the local industrial community and gather in an informal setting to examine common issues as they relate to their specific industry.

Topics of discussion include:

  • Workforce development, education and training
  • Supplier needs
  • Process improvement
  • Leadership development
  • Identifying challenges

SKY FAME

The Southcentral Kentucky Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (SKY FAME) is a partnership of regional manufacturers whose purpose is to implement a work-and-learn style training that will create a pipeline of highly skilled workers. The primary method to achieve this goal is through partnerships with local educational institutions to offer the Advanced Manufacturing Technician Program (AMT) at SKYCTC's Franklin-Simpson Center. Southern Kentucky SHRM, located in Bowling Green, Kentucky, is an affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management.
