South Central Kentucky’s 10-county region is composed of the Bowling Green-Edmonson Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) that includes Allen, Butler, Edmonson and Warren Counties, plus six adjacent counties (Barren, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe and Simpson)— totaling 295,952 people in 2016.  Over 2,500 people commute from Tennessee to work each day in South Central Kentucky.

A workforce of over 137,000 lives in the 10-county region. Roughly 50 percent of the population is 18-54 years of age, while another 23 percent are under the age of 18.  South Central Kentucky has experienced a growth rate of 22 percent over the last nine years.
