OnTrack is a motorsports education initiative of the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce. It is a crucial piece of the Chamber’s commitment to South Central Kentucky's future talent and workforce development efforts. According to recent data and research, South Central Kentucky has over 5,000 job openings, and that number exponentially grows over the next 10 years.
OnTrack introduces critical STEM concepts in a practical setting that will help develop a highly-skilled talent pipeline to continue to fuel the already strong South Central Kentucky economy. In 2015, the Chamber purchased two second-generation Chevrolet Camaros from Holley Performance Products. The two vehicles were donated to Warren County Area Technology Center and Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College to completely rebuild during the 2015-16 school year. During this process, industry experts worked closely with students and faculty to aid in the development of the cars and the program's curriculum, which includes multiple educational disciplines like science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
In May 2017, both cars will be auctioned in the nationally-televised Mecum Automotive Auction in Indianapolis, Indiana. View the Warren County ATC car or the SKYCTC car on Mecum's website and track the auction's progress! Proceeds from both vehicles will go back to the OnTrack motorsports education initiative.
