Jessica M.L. Thompson joined the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce in June 2007, taking on the role of communications coordinator. Jessica is responsible for Chamber publications, public relations, and marketing for the Chamber and ITA, and is also the website coordinator for www.bgchamber.com and www.southcentralky.com. She is also responsible for partner celebrations, including ribbon cuttings and groundbreakings. She was promoted to the role of communications director in June 2008.

A native of Nebraska, Jessica holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a focus in Irish literature and women’s studies from Creighton University. After receiving her undergraduate degree, Jessica moved to Auburn, Ala., where she obtained her Master’s in Technical and Professional Communication degree from Auburn University in May 2005. Prior to graduation, Jessica was named one of Auburn University’s Top 10 Graduate Students (Master’s Level).

Before joining the Chamber, Jessica served as a communications specialist at the Lincoln (Neb.) Operations Center for State Farm Insurance Companies. Within this position, Jessica coordinated the monthly Agency magazine for the Heartland Zone and developed communication strategies for various departments, committees and programs. While working at State Farm, Jessica was also an adjunct instructor for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, teaching technical communication courses for three semesters.

Jessica is a member of the American Marketing Association, Phi Kappa Phi and the Public Relations Society of America.
