R. Marc ElliottVice President, Property Development R. Marc Elliott, CEcD, AICP joined the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce in May 2008 as vice president, property development. He will be responsible for managing the business operations of the Inter-Modal Transportation Authority, Inc. and the Bowling Green Area Economic Development Authority, Inc. Aside from his CEcD designation from the International Economic Development Council, Elliott has been a Certified Planner by the American Institute of Certified Planners since 1978, and he became a Certified Community Development Grant Manager by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation in 1999. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in urban planning and a Master of Public Administration degree, both from Ball State University. He has also completed 17 hours of real estate studies at Eastern Kentucky University. Elliott was the executive director of the River Ridge Development Authority in Clark County, Ind., for eight years prior to assuming a consulting role for the organization in January 2008. While executive director, some of his key accomplishments were acquiring 3,000 acres of real estate from the U.S. Army for use as a site for the River Ridge Commerce Center, managing the leases of more than 40 tenants and managing the care and maintenance of 6,000 acres of real estate, selling 250 acres of real estate for the development of 1.2 million square feet of new industrial building space, and creating 13 new development sites. Prior to joining the River Ridge Development Authority, Elliott was the director of the Terre Haute Department of Redevelopment in Terre Haute, Ind., for nearly 20 years and was a community development project manager for GRW Engineers in Lexington, Ky. |
