Sustained by a cost of living that is below the national average, South Central Kentucky's 10-county region provides residents with a high quality of life for an affordable price. The Bowling Green MSA, which encompasses a large portion of the South Central Kentucky region, reported a Composite Index 10 percent lower than the national average according to the Council for Community and Economic Research.


Not only does the residential real estate market in the region offer great choices for buyers, but the housing cost in the area ranked 21 percent lower than the national average. The average median home value reported for Bowling Green in 2015 was $141,300 and the average monthly rent recorded was $665.

Aside from being affordable, the real estate market in South Central Kentucky offers stability to homeowners with consistent inventory and housing prices.
