ProCom Heating Announces Plans to Expand its Bowling Green Operations

Total expansion will bring $19 million in capital investment and 37 new jobs

ProCom Heating, Inc., a leader in the gas heating appliance industry, announced its upcoming expansion project in Bowling Green today. The complete project is anticipated to bring a total of $19,171,338 in capital investment and 37 new, full-time jobs to the region.

 ProCom Heating was founded in 1996 and moved its operations to Bowling Green in May 2012. The company will begin expanding its Bowling Green facilities starting in 2016. The 148,000-square-foot space will grow to a total of 450,000 square feet by 2020. Additionally, the project will bring all of ProCom’s manufacturing and assembly from China to the U.S.

 “Bowling Green was at the center of our industry for many years and provided us a great opportunity to tap into an experienced and talented workforce,” said Kirk Kirchner, ProCom Heating president. “We look forward to once again reasserting South Central Kentucky as the leader in the gas appliance industry.”

 Phase one of the expansion, which will begin construction next year, will add 120,000 square feet to the building. In this phase, additional equipment will be purchased. Phase two, which is slated to begin in 2017, will add new, state of the art office space. Phase three will bring another addition to the building, bringing the total square footage of the facility to 450,000.

 ProCom Heating, manufactures and sells its products to major home improvement retailers as well as smaller independent distributors. ProCom’s product line includes vent-free gas space heaters and fireplace systems, gas log sets, universal fireboxes, gas stoves, outdoor construction heaters and garage heaters.

 The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce is poised to have a record-setting year in economic development. To date, announced projects will bring a total capital investment of $759,160,938 and create 647 new jobs in South Central Kentucky in 2015.
