MORGANTOWN, KY – November 7, 2024 – In a joint effort with the City of Morgantown to drive economic development, the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce organized a milestone event celebrating 15 years of Aerospace Composites Solutions (ACS), formerly known as Blackhawk Composites Inc. (BCI). ACS is proud to mark this anniversary of innovation and growth in Morgantown, KY, highlighting its commitment to the community and its journey of transformation and success since 2009. Since its founding, ACS has progressed from supplying composite parts for the general aviation market to becoming a recognized leader in the aerospace and defense sectors.
Originally focused on exceptional-quality composite solutions for general aviation, BCI's rapid success and the demand for superior products fueled its expansion into the aerospace and defense industries. In January 2023, under new ownership, BCI rebranded as Aerospace Composites Solutions and solidified its position as an independent and forward-thinking entity.
“Celebrating 15 years of service marks a significant milestone for our team and the Morgantown community,” said Matt Shieman, President of ACS. “Our journey has been driven by a commitment to innovation, integrity, and meeting our customers’ evolving needs. In early 2024, ACS began construction on a new 155,000-square-foot manufacturing facility located just off Interstate 165 in Morgantown. The facility, set to be operational by Q1 2025, will enhance ACS's ability to support global aerospace and defense needs while nurturing local talent. The expansion is expected to bring continued economic growth to the region.
Recently, ACS partnered with Recoil Aerospace, Inc. to design and manufacture aerial fire-fighting equipment poised to revolutionize the approach to combatting wildfires globally. This collaboration underscores ACS’s dedication to innovative solutions with life-saving implications.

To commemorate its 15th anniversary, ACS will hold an employee-only celebration on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. The festivities will extend to the public with a community reception on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM, hosted at the North building on Beaver Dam Road in Morgantown.
